The Holiness of God

Do you ever wonder if creation, excluding humans, does a better job than mankind at declaring God's glory? I look at the stars and the beauty of the sunset and think "I am so sinful and that is so beautiful." God's Word says that the heavens declare the glory of God and the sky proclaims His handiwork. I look at my life and know that many times it does not proclaim His glory through my thoughts, words and actions yet I know that, for some uncomprehendible reason, not only did He create me but he bought me for the highest price. At the same time of being aware of my sin and insignificance I also know that I am to be holy as God is holy (Leviticus 11:44) and that he chose me to be His. I need no other reason to strive for holiness other than that God is my God and He is holy.

Nice blog and very nice thoughts, Orangelugster! I think God through this post, especially the verse from Leviticus giving us the point-blank reason to be holy, will help sustain my faith.

"...and I think, "I am so sinful and that is so beautiful." I like how creation makes you (as in you personally and everyone) feel small! It puts things back into perspective, deflating the prideful image we had of ourselves, doesn't it?

Keep Going! --LaShani<><
